top rated cannabis dispensaries

If you want a dispensary you can genuinely trust, start with one that publishes third-party lab results for every batch it sells. Our top pick is a state-licensed retailer that posts certificates of analysis (COAs) online, prints CBD and THC amounts per serving on each label, and trains staff to ask about your experience level before recommending a product. If that shop does not serve your state, the alternatives below cover similar ground with different menus and delivery areas.

Materials, Specs, and Labeling

Ask how the oil was extracted — CO2 and ethanol are most common — and which carrier oil is used, since MCT coconut oil and hemp seed oil behave differently in tinctures and edibles. Check the testing date: a panel older than 12 months is a reason to look elsewhere. Child-resistant packaging, a batch number matching the COA, and clear storage instructions all signal a careful operator. Hemp-derived CBD is federally legal under the 2018 Farm Bill, but cannabis with higher THC is regulated state by state, so buy only from licensees in your own state.

Shipping and Returns

Most licensed dispensaries cannot ship THC products across state lines; delivery stays inside the state and requires ID at handoff. Hemp-derived CBD often ships nationwide, though a few states restrict it. Since opened cannabis usually cannot be resold, confirm the exchange window before you pay and keep your receipt until you have tried the product.

Are top rated cannabis dispensaries the same as CBD shops?

Not exactly. Dispensaries sell regulated cannabis and usually carry CBD too, while CBD shops focus on hemp-derived products with very low THC. A dispensary is the better choice if you want both categories tested and labeled to the same standard.

How do you verify a dispensary's lab testing?

Open the COA linked to your product's batch number and confirm an independent lab tested potency plus contaminants recently. If a shop cannot produce a matching COA on request, buy elsewhere.

Can you order from a dispensary online?

You can browse a menu and place a pickup or in-state delivery order, but you will still show ID at handoff. Cross-state shipping of THC products is not permitted.
