Cannabis Kief
Cannabis kief is the loose, golden powder of detached resin glands that gathers when dried flower is trimmed, sifted, or shaken. In a CBD shop it is sold as an unrefined botanical ingredient rather than a finished extract, which makes it a simple way to add texture and aroma. This guide covers what kief is, how to judge quality, and how to store it.
What Is Cannabis Kief, Exactly?
Kief is the collection of tiny trichomes — the resin-producing glands on the surface of cannabis flower — that have broken free from plant material. Nothing is added and no solvent is used, so it carries the same cannabinoids and terpenes as the flower it came from, only more concentrated by weight.

Materials and Specifications
Our kief is sifted from dried, properly cured flower and screened to remove stems and leaf matter, leaving a light, dry powder with a clean aroma. Each batch is tested for cannabinoid content, moisture, and contaminants, and the lot number on the label matches the lab report you can request from support. Color can range from pale gold to light green depending on the cultivar, so slight variation between batches is normal and not a defect. Store it in the supplied airtight jar, away from heat and direct light, and out of reach of children and pets. Cannabis-derived products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
How Should You Store Cannabis Kief?
Keep it in a sealed, opaque container in a cool, dark spot and open it only when needed, since air and light slowly degrade terpenes. A humidity pack helps if you live somewhere very dry or very humid.
How Do You Use Kief?
Sprinkle a small pinch over flower in a bowl or vaporizer, blend it into a carrier oil, or press it into a small puck with a kief press. Start with very little, since kief is more concentrated than loose flower.
Is Kief the Same as Hash?
No. Kief is the raw, unpressed powder, while hash is made by applying heat and pressure to kief until it fuses into a solid. The starting material is the same, but the texture and handling differ.
